Who is eligible to receive food from the pantry?
Any local area residents who are in need of assistance.
What criteria does a person or family have to meet to be eligible for assistance? How do I apply?
Anyone requesting assistance must be a resident of New Jersey.

How often can I receive food?
Food is distributed to eligible individuals and families on the third week of each month.
I am single, can I get assistance?
Yes.
I am on a special diet can PFR accommodate my dietary needs?
​We can accommodate special diets to a point since we are totally dependent upon donations. In the past, we have been able to accommodate those individuals on peanut free and diabetic diets, as pantry supplies permit. Some vegetarian items may be in stock.
How will I know when my food is ready to be picked up?
When you are sent your request sheet to choose your items, you will be given a choice to pickup on either of two different dates. You will choose one.
We are not open to the public so pickup hours are limited.
What kinds of food does the pantry supply?
Since we are dependent on donations, not all items are available every month. Distributions usually include a variety of canned goods including: vegetables, pasta, tomato sauce and fruit as well as canned protein such as tuna, chicken, beef, and beans. We also regularly distribute cereal, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, rice, juices, pancake mix, syrup, condiments, snack items, coffee and tea as well as toiletries, paper goods, and cleaning supplies when available. Donations of bread and baked goods and seasonal vegetables from a are distributed to families when available, as well as supermarket gift cards. Occasionally some perishable items like cheese, are distributed when available. We offer frozen items as area grocery store sales allow.
How do I donate groceries?
The quickest way to contact us is to email the food pantry at pomptonfoodrecovery@gmail.com. We offer two ways to donate food. To drop off groceries at our location at 530 Newark Pompton Turnpike in Wayne, enter the church parking lot and drive around to the back of the building. There will be a drop off box. ** Please let us know you are dropping off**
We also offer local porch pickups. Please contact us to arrange a pickup. Please label all bags PRF so we know what to take.
Can my teenager volunteer to obtain community service hours?
Unfortunately, at this time we cannot accommodate on-site community service programs.
